The Hart and Soul Scholarship is a tax-deductible 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to provide community-service-oriented students with financial assistance as they pursue their education and build a brighter future.

We believe students who give their time, their hearts, and their talents to helping others deserve the opportunity to keep making a difference.

And here is what makes Hart and Soul truly special: 100% of every donation goes directly toward rewarding high school seniors through the Hart and Soul Scholarship.  We also give scholarships for college or trade schools.

Your generosity does more than help pay for an education. It gives a student encouragement, opportunity, and a reminder that their commitment to serving others matters.

A Legacy Worth Carrying On

Some people leave behind memories. Clifford and Shirley Hart left behind a way of life.

They believed that when someone needed help, you showed up. You gave what you could. You cared. And you never did it for recognition.

Clifford spent countless hours in the barn alongside 4-H and FFA students, helping them raise their animals from feed to fair. But he was teaching them much more than how to care for an animal. He was teaching responsibility, perseverance, dedication, and the confidence to believe in themselves.

Shirley had a heart that always seemed to find someone who needed a little extra care. She drove people to appointments, cooked meals for families in need, and cleaned up stuffed animals and dolls so deserving children could have something to call their own. She helped start the local ambulance service and gave so much of herself to her community that, in 2015, she was honored as The Facts newspaper’s Citizen of the Year.

The Hart and Soul Scholarship exists because their story shouldn’t end with them.

Their legacy lives on every time a student receives an opportunity because someone chose to give. It lives on when a young person learns that kindness matters, service matters, and their willingness to help others can make a difference.

And this is where you become part of their story.
